The role of optocouplers in the circuit of hanging ironing machines: electrical isolation and safety control
As a high-power household appliance, the hanging iron machine involves the coordinated work of strong electricity (220V mains) and weak electricity (control circuit) inside. The function of optocouplers is to achieve electrical isolation between circuits through optical signals, avoiding high voltage interference with low voltage control parts. Specific application scenarios include:
Power device drive isolation
The hanging iron machine controls the on/off of the heating module through a bidirectional thyristor (such as a three quadrant thyristor). To ensure the safe driving of high-voltage power devices by low-voltage control signals (such as temperature control commands), optocouplers serve as isolation media to block the interference of strong electricity on the control circuit.
Water shortage detection and protection
Some of the hanging ironing machines use a separate photoelectric liquid level sensor (based on optocoupler principle) to detect the water level in the water tank through infrared light. When the water level is insufficient, the sensor triggers a signal, which is isolated by an optocoupler and transmitted to the control chip for automatic power-off to prevent dry burning.
Anti interference and stability improvement
The unidirectional signal transmission characteristic of optocouplers (optical signal → electrical signal) can suppress circuit noise, ensure the accuracy of temperature control, timing and other functions, and reduce the risk of false triggering
